Residents in Shepparton can attend the 2026 Australia Day Citizenship Awards and Citizenship Ceremony later this month.
The ceremony is twofold: it provides a welcome for the award applicants as well as recognition for the 2026 Australia Day Awards winners. It also provides the opportunity for invited prospective citizens of Australia to make their Pledge of Commitment to the country, and receive their certificate.
The Australia Day Awards recognises community commitment in categories such as Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Volunteer Award, recognising groups and individuals who have made a positive impact throughout the year. Candidates for the awards will previously have been nominated if certain criteria are met by the published deadline.
Australia Day very much encourages reflection, in order to acknowledge the history of the country and thus enabling people to celebrate modern Australia in all its Forms and diversity.
Local printing services are often used to produce pamphlets and certificates for award-type ceremonies.
The Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony 2026 is taking place on 26th January, from 2pm until 4.30pm. The venue is Riverlinks, 70 Welsford Street, Shepparton, VIC 3060. The event is free to attend. Afternoon tea will follow, to which all attendees are welcome.
