Community art to be displayed in Shepparton

Fans of art in and about the Shepparton area can soon enjoy a free exhibition that celebrates the local artistic community.

Tank’s Gallery will provide the venue for the coming together of Greater Shepparton artists. All of the work that will be on display will also be available to purchase. The opening evening, from 6 until 8 pm, allows visitors to mingle with the artists over food and drink, and also features live acoustic music by Sean Bowen.

The Autumn Art Show is part of the 30th Shepparton Festival, with an Opening Night Party at the Festival Hub on Fryers Street. The festival is about inclusivity, diversity and accessibility with the view that creativity, community, connection and participation in the arts helps to fuel growth and acceptance.

Many different venues will be used, as the Shepparton Arts Festival uses the idea of “unique events and unusual places”, proving that even non-traditional spaces can become successful destinations for events.

Printed cards and labels often accompany exhibition-style events so that pieces can be described and located. Print shops are a place where these could be produced.

The Autumn Art Show will be taking place at Tank’s Art Gallery, 175 Corio Street, Shepparton, from 26 March until 11 April. The gallery is open weekdays from 9 am until 5 pm, and from 9 am until 1 pm on Saturdays. Admittance is free.
