Through dance, the drama investigates the relationships between a group of women, and how they define their friendships. Wild Eagles Fly Alone explores personal motivation in the quest for balance with nature and each other. The drama begs questions in a framework of friendship and commitment. Are we stronger combined or would it be easier to fly alone, like a wild eagle?
Five of Melbourne’s most talented young dancers were selected by choreographers Harlow and Hicks to showcase their fledgling company. Hayley Burdon, one of the five rising talents selected for the show, knew that dance was her calling at age seven, when she danced alongside Michael Jackson at the Burswood Dome. Now 23, Hayley is ready for the spotlight at Chapel off Chapel in Prahran in February. The venue continues to present creative and innovative talent, with poster printing and Brochures becoming collectors’ items for theatre buffs.
Commenting on the show, Burdon said:
“It’s something that a lot of people will be able to relate to and I’m so excited to be a part of it.”
The scene for Wild Eagles Fly Alone is set when the friends experience a tragedy during a night out on the town. The resulting relationship dynamics are played out both in dance and drama, defining the importance of friendships.
Wild Eagles Fly Alone is on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th February, 6:30pm at Chapel off Chapel in Prahran.
