A theatrical show that takes a satirical slant on a character from a famous fantasy saga will grace the stage of a Prahran venue this year.
Fans of musical comedy and high fantasy in Prahran are in for a rare treat this autumn. A show called “My Precious – The Cabaret” is coming to the suburb for a string of performances, and tickets are already available to book.
Theatrical venues like playhouses and performance halls often connect with poster printing services that can both design and reproduce attractive playbills that advertise the shows they present to the public.
The forthcoming show is the brainchild of writer Morgan Palmer. An award-winning production, it riffs on the ring-hungry character from John Ronald Reuel (JRR) Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of The Rings” novels, reimagining him on a new quest for fortune and fame in the theatre.
Warmly received by critics, Theatre Review Perth called the show bold and brilliant and an utterly precious evening at the theatre, while Fringefeed awarded it four stars. Palmer has worked in a wide range of Australian professional theatre productions over the past decade and is joined on stage by Dylan Pollard.
My Precious – The Cabaret will now be on stage at The MC Showroom from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19. The venue is based on Level 1at 50 Clifton Street in Prahran.
