A popular live arts, performance and cultural venue sited in Prahran will host a concert featuring an Australian-Taiwanese artist as part of a state-wide festival.
Innovative London-based musician Belle Chen is coming to the area this year. The pianist and composer with Taiwanese and Australian roots is arriving in the inner suburb by invitation of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
Marketeers charged with promoting festivals featuring global artists often rely on poster printing services for adverts in varying sizes for deployment in different locations where the public can view them.
Known for blending electronic synthesisers with classical piano and ambient sounds, Chen was born in Taiwan in 1988 and raised in Queensland’s Brisbane. Her album, Ravel in the Forest, was released through the Platoon label, and it aimed to transport listeners to an ancient woodland populated by birds and dragonflies.
Her work has been described as both provocative and original by producer Brian Eno and she has been nominated for the Australian Music Prize multiple times. Today, Chen’s popularity continues to grow, with her tracks amassing more than 50 million streams by music fans to date.
Belle Chen will now perform solo at Chapel Off Chapel on Tuesday, October 20. The pianist will be on stage from 8 pm, and the venue is easy to find at 12 Little Chapel Street in Prahran.
