A successful arts venue in Prahran is welcoming a Jane Austen-inspired production to its stage that features a single performer.
Area residents with a penchant for the literary works of Jane Austen won’t want to miss the one-woman show coming to the suburb. This winter, the multi-talented Penny Ashton is bringing her highly successful production called “Promise and Promiscuity” to Prahran for two consecutive nights.
For 13 years, the production has experienced sold-out shows in Australia, Canada and the UK. A musical comedy, it features Ashton singing, dancing and acting as a wide range of colourful characters like Elspeth and Horatio.
Theatres and performing arts centres presenting productions sometimes connect with poster printing services for artful one sheets that promote to the public and boost ticket sales.
The show has enjoyed rave reviews from Best Theatre and the Adelaide Advertiser but also from the Jane Austen Society of Australia’s president, who applauded its clever script and acting.
Penny Ashton’s Promise and Promiscuity will now be on stage at Chapel Off Chapel on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6. The renowned arts venue is based at 12 Little Chapel Street, Prahran within the City of Stonnington. The venue can be found behind the Chapel Street shopping precinct.
Those wishing to see the show are advised to book tickets early to avoid disappointment.
