Understand the architecture in Prahran this autumn

Inhabitants of the Prahran area may sometimes look at their district and wonder about the evolution of the landscape and buildings therein. These people might, then, be keen to attend a talk by Angelo Candalepas regarding the local architecture this coming September.

Buildings surround us. We live in them, work in them, socialise in them, covet them, or are maybe ambivalent about them, but when is a building just functional, and when does it represent architecture? This is a question that Angelo Candalepas, who is renowned for his work in the field, will attempt to answer for the interested audience.

Candalepas has worked across a variety of projects, including commercial and private remits. In 2012, he became a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and his company, Candalepas Associates, has won awards including, most recently, the Sulman Medal for Public Architecture in 2018. He has attended national and international symposiums as a highly regarded speaker, and is currently an advisor on a building procurement panel to the University of Sydney, as well as a Councillor with the Australian Institute of Architects. Striking graphic design will often feature in advertisements promoting such an event.

2023 Architecture is Art with Angelo Candalepas is set to take place on Tuesday 12th September, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, at the Justin Art House Museum (JAHM). This can be found at 3 Lumley Court, Prahran, VIC 3181. Tickets cost $35, and refreshments will follow the talk.
