Treat for fans of football and music

Football fans who are fond of music may be keen to attend the More Than a Game show in Prahran in August.

The show is a comedic rock-musical about unfit, ageing men who used to live out their dreams on the football field. The premise of the show is a live “taping” where the football oldsters chat about their various relationships and friendships, all the while poking gentle fun at celebrity culture. Organisers of such events may employ poster printing and display them within the local area in order to entice an interested audience to the venue.

Chapel off Chapel is one of the oldest churches in the area, built in 1858 and now a buzzing live venue after it was bought by the council and then officially opened in 1995 as a multi-functional arts, recreation and tourism hub. Many Australian premieres have been hosted here, including The Color Purple, Avenue Q, Blood Brothers and Hair.

The More Than a Game show will take place from 25th until 28th August at 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a matinee at 2pm on Sunday. The venue is Chapel off Chapel, which is located at 12 Little Chapel Street, Prahran, Melbourne, VIC 3181. Tickets cost $40, or $35 with concession, and the show runs for a little over an hour.
