Self-portrait workshop to be run this May

A workshop in creative self-portraits will be run in Prahran later this month.

The class will be run by artist Jade Lees-Pavey and she will be teaching the art of creating a self-portraits. The class is open to any student who wishes to explore the use of alternative mediums and methods.

Students will use a head and shoulders photo of themselves for the initial sketch, with blind contour drawing used as the beginning point for the portrait. Participants can then use a mix of other mediums such as printmaking and collages to finish their portraits.

Jade Lees-Pavey is well-known for her ‘can do attitude’ and aims to assist students to find their own way of expressing themselves through the use of various mediums as well as using contrasting techniques to finish their portrait.

Jade has worked for over 20 years as an artist and has recently presented a ceramic workshop entitled ‘Come Pinch With Me’. Artists and others in the creative sector may use Business Cards or other Promotional Products to advertise events and exhibitions.

The class will be kept small on the day, so that Jade can have time to work individually with students. The cost of the workshop is between $184 and $205, which includes materials and will be run at in.cube8r gallery in Prahran on 25th May from 1pm to 3pm.
