Prahran residents are among thousands within the City of Stonnington to be given an opportunity to enjoy a series of Sunset Sounds live concerts to be presented in the picturesque setting of local gardens and parks in 2020.
Held annually, the free concerts give locals a chance to enjoy some of Australia’s established and top emerging talent first hand, according to Mayor Steve Stefanopoulos, who urged people to attend along with picnic baskets, family and friends.
RnB and hip hop band Billy Davis and The Good Lords will kick off the series on January 5 from 5pm to 8pm in Victoria Gardens in Prahran, together with support artist Tanya George who is a singer/songwriter.
On January 12, the entertainment will focus on Central Park in Malvern’s Burke Road with music from The Northern Folk whose percussion, bass, horns and powerful vocalists combine to present a show full of folk, rock, roots and pop music to suit all ages. Support artists on the night will feature Rach Brennan and The Pines who have recently released a new album.
Malvern Gardens will be the location of the final free concert on January 19 starring Emma Donovan, a singer/songwriter as well as support artist guitar/vocalist Laneous. Banner printing is often undertaken to ensure the concert venues are clearly visible to attendees.
Food trucks with everything from ice tea and gelatos to fish and chips and cheese platters will be available at each event.
