Prahran to host sporting event

A major basketball festival will be held in Prahran next year.

Inspired by movies like "He Got Game" and "White Men Can't Jump" and the New York City scene, Prahran’s Summer Basketball Festival is returning next year. A celebration of the boom in Australia’s basketball culture, the event has been designed to provide attendees with a summer block party of their own featuring MCs, DJs, live artists, food trucks, open air bars and of plenty of basketball games to watch and take part in.

Organisers and promoters of festivals, fairs and outdoor sporting events sometimes use professional banner printing services to create eye-catching signage that welcomes in attendees. The extensive events being held over the festival include full-court rivalry games, prizes awarded from Jordan, Nike and House of Hoops, along with open air activations and much more.

There will also being a dedicated slam-dunk competition with Australia’s best ball players showing their expertise. The event organisers strongly recommend that all attending the free festival bring along sun hats and sunscreen. While a beer garden will be open for the day, only those aged 18 and over will be admitted, but soft drinks will be offered onsite on the day.

The Summer Basketball Festival will take place on 288 Malvern Road in Prahran starting at 3.30 pm on February 4, continuing into February 5.
