The Melbourne Fringe Festival is occurring from 1st until 20th October. Speed takes place on an actual vintage bus, in a car park. It is performed by Act React and is action packed, irreverent and joyous. With a cheeky look back to the 1994 film of Speed, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, in the Prahran version the bus must not travel below the speed of fifty miles an hour. There will be (almost) special effects and shameless jokes about the career of Keanu Reeves.
Reviews include the following from the Adelaide Advertiser:
“The whole thing is a riot…if there’s more fun to be had in sixty minutes at this year’s Fringe, please show me where.”
And, from the ArtsHub:
“Rollicking good fun, cleverly conceived and wonderfully enacted.”
Melbourne Fringe events are likely to be heavily advertised locally by the production of material at local Print shops.
Speed: The Movie, The Play is on from 9th until 20th October, with sixty-minute showings at 6.30pm, 8pm and 9.30pm. The venue is the Prahran Town Hall Car Park. Tickets cost $38.50. This event is part of the Melbourne Fringe, running from 1st until 20th October.
