Sunday nights in Prahran are comedy nights with local theatre company, Impro Melbourne, performing ‘Maestro™ Impro’.
Each Sunday a team of professional entertainers improvises sketches based on numbers picked in the style of a lottery. Every performance is unique and unpredictable, because it is judged by that night’s audience, who decides which performer will win the grand title of Maestro.
Performances are held at the David Williamson Theatre, which is on the Prahran campus of the Melbourne Polytechnic, St John’s Street, Prahran. Besides being known for its vocational courses and higher education degrees, the Polytechnic also has two venues in the David Williamson Theatre, as well as a foyer with catering and a bar.
Both venues are available for hire, and are suitable for performances or rehearsals, as well as workshops and conferences. Local printing companies are nearby, ready to provide theatre programmes, Promotional Products and Presentation Folders.
Theatre company Impro Melbourne formed in 1996, and consists of a highly talented team of actors. The company is based in Abbotsford where it offers various courses including corporate training and school workshops.
The next two performances of ‘Maestro™ Impro’ are on June 18 and June 25, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available from the Try Booking website, and range between $15 for adults, to $40 for a family of four.
