In early May, Prahran Market will up the ante of its previous Wicked Chocolate Festival into a festival that celebrates everything sweet – the Wicket Dessert Festival.
The dessert celebration will include sweet delicacies such as baklava cheesecakes, gold-leaf pavlovas, Nutella pizzas, dessert cocktails, and heaps of chocolate. Included on the menu is a huge range of chocolate products, including bars, cakes, popcorn, doughnuts, tarts and sourdough.
The Wicked Dessert Festival will also include a gathering of dessert experts and pastry chefs to showcase a smorgasbord of their individual desserts of expertise. For example, the Bearded Bakers will be at the event with their famous shipping container to serve customers with their traditional family Knefeh.
Moreover, cheese experts That’s Amore will be giving customers a treat using handmade Sicilian cigars. The cigars are filled with sweet ricotta, Tiramisu, or cinnamon. That’s Amore is well-known in the country for its Logo Design of a couple riding together on a motorcycle.
Anthony Femia, internationally famous cheesemaker of Maker & Monger, will also be showcasing a family heirloom – his mother’s trademark tiramisu using a recipe originally from his grandmother.
The event takes place on Sunday, May 6. Prahran residents with a sweet tooth may want to consider heading down to the Wicked Dessert Festival with the whole family for a range of sweets, live entertainment, and kids’ activities.
