Prahran Market supports Fair Trade with giveaway

Throughout the world, people are becoming more aware of Fair Trade and are choosing to buy products that help to empower farmers and workers located in developing countries. Fair Trade products are becoming so well-known because of the materials used in order to bring attention to the cause. Poster printing and flyer printing are just some ways information is commonly given about Fair Trade, but there are also TV and radio adverts and many other sources of Fair Trade information too.

Prahran Market is now also doing its bit for Fair Trade by coming together with the city of Stonnington to give away free Fair Trade products that are sold within the market. Coffee and tea as well as a wide range of products will be given away to those who attend the market and everyone will also receive a free Fair Trade cotton bag to carry their goodies home in. The aim of this event is to get people understanding and enjoying Fair Trade products so they purchase them in the future if they do not already.

More and more retailers are choosing to stock Fair Trade products so it is important that consumers know the benefits of these products for themselves and for those who produce them. Events like this are an ideal way to bring the community together for a great cause and also for an enjoyable day out.

The Fair Trade giveaway will take place at the Blanco kitchen at Prahran Market on Saturday 5th May 2012 between 9.30am and 12.30pm. More information can be found at www.prahranmarket.com.au
