Animal lovers from Prahran and throughout the Stonnington, Victoria local government area have been invited to attend an informative and fun day out.
The annual council-run event provides an opportunity to locals to accompany their feathered, scaly and furry pets to a full day of activities, demonstrations, competitions and information put together just for them, according to a Stonnington Council spokesman.
He said presentations, pet parades and live music would feature on the main stage, along with a wide selection of stalls offering the latest health tips, pet products and information including Flyers and booklet printing giveaways on caring for a pet to responsible pet ownership.
Featured on the programme, to be hosted by Channel 10’s Mike Larkin, is a special pet Questions and Answer segment by Russell Harrison, of the Lort Smith Animal Hospital.
According to the spokesman, popular competitions such as the ‘Best Trick’ and (for those owners who have a striking resemblance to their pets) the ‘Best Look-alike’ will once again be included.
In addition, fun presentations by Cynder and That Dancing Dog will provide a few informative tips to owners and their dogs on the art of dancing, while the Victorian Pet Obedience Club can assist owners with training tips.
There will also be some agility training put to the test by the German Sheppard Club, plus The Roo Keeper’s Mobile Zoo.
Pets in the Park will be held at Central Park on March 20 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
