Prahran residents and friends are being invited to experience fun, food, and entertainment inspired by a French theme at this year’s Paris to Provence Melbourne French Festival.
The eighth annual event, which is the first French festival in Australia, promises to be the biggest and best yet, according to founder Laura Rancle. She said the three-day festival will be a true celebration of all the French culture has to offer.
Rancle said the National Trust property Como House will be transformed for three exciting days into a pop-up French village where visitors will be able to enjoy wine and food from across France, as well as explore fashion, language, homewares and travel marquees.
She added that Signs will also point the way to some great family fun attractions, live entertainment and delicious cuisine.
Among the attractions, My French Kitchen will host free cooking demonstrations at which attendees will be able to pick up some culinary secrets from pastry chef Pierrick Boyer, of Le Petit Gateau, as well as a number of other top French cooks including Gontran Cherrier direct from France.
There will also be wine masterclasses, a Singles Speed Dating and Wine Soiree, French designer-themed fashion show, French Bulldog party, a market, French photography exhibition, escargot-eating races, croissant-tossing competition, village dance and, for the first time, the event will host the Waiter Races.
The Paris to Provence Melbourne French Festival will be held this weekend, November 18 to 20.
