Online sessions offer tips on sustainable living

Prahran residents are being invited to take part in a series of online sessions aimed at teaching people from across the cities of Stonnington, Glen Eira and Yarra about sustainable living.

Stonnington Mayor, Steve Stefanopoulos said the series was being presented in partnership with neighbouring councils and represents an excellent opportunity for residents to learn valuable skills to help support self-sufficiency and sustainable living. He added:

“Supporting our residents to reduce their carbon footprint and live more sustainably is an important action following our declaration of a climate emergency earlier this year, and I’m excited that we’re partnering with nearby councils to deliver this.”

Brochure printing services can help organisations with expertise on the subject to share knowledge and tips with the public.

A total of 20 sessions have been organised to take place during May and June with topics covering everything from reducing energy bills to growing food to feed the family at home. The Mayor said the information provided will enable residents to take action themselves on issues related to climate change. Those planning to participate are urged to register.

The free online sessions, which will be held at various times, will begin in the City of Stonnington on May 21 from 6pm to 7:30pm with ‘Prepare your home for winter’ and will conclude on June 21 with a 10:30am to 12pm session called ‘Keep happy healthy backyard chooks’.
