The fourth annual Market Week is set to be a big celebration of family fun, food and entertainment.
The event will be held at major Melbourne markets including Queen Victoria, South Melbourne, Dandenong, and Prahran, Victoria.
This year’s theme, Our Global Community, encompasses the multicultural flavour of today’s marketplace and the sounds, smells, sights and tastes that continuously greet visitors.
Market Week offers more than 50 events plus tours, festivals, free tastings, workshops and lots of fun for all ages.
Keen cooks at the Prahran Market will be able to sit in on a Dumpling Master Class by David’s and Oriental Teahouse, while cultural ceremonies including the Mooncake Festival will be held at the Queen Victoria Market. Dandenong Market will host the Full Moon Festival.
For something a little different, organic peanut butter dog biscuits will be available at the South Melbourne Market.
According to organisers, the event will offer something for everyone, ranging from cultural connoisseurs and foodies to shopaholics and kids.
Brochure and flyer printing ensures market goers will be kept up to date with event times and places.
Organisers described this year’s program as ‘action-packed’.
The 2014 Market Week is set to be held from September 6th to 14th, and entry is free. The Prahran Market is at 163 Commercial Road, South Yarra.
