John Williamson to perform this September

Prahran residents can watch John Williamson perform as part of his ‘My Australian Stories’ series this September in St Kilda.

Williamson is a Southeast Queensland-born singer and songwriter who has been constantly touring for 51 years. However, last year, he decided to stay put in Australia in order to perform a series of five concerts in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Williamson’s songs are based upon his travels across Australia. He has lived in Sydney, Melbourne and sub-tropical Queensland, and he also experienced sheep and wheat farming in New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria for six years. These experiences have given Williamson a deep understanding of his homeland, which subsequently inspired My Australian Stories.

The son of a wheat farmer, Williamson grew up in a family of five boys in the regional town of Mallee, located in North West Victoria. At the age of 19, his family moved to North West NSW, where his passion for the bush and birds bloomed, both of which inspire his songs. Williamson received his first break at the Channel 9 Studios after the release of ‘Old Man Emu’, his first song that was written while he was driving a tractor. Since then, Williamson has written 500 songs, received several awards, including 27 Golden Guitars.

Musical events are often promoted using poster printing, where Posters display the name of the act or performer, date of the performance, contact details and an attention-grabbing image.

Williamson will be singing at the Palais Theatre on Friday, 10th September.
