In this idyllic setting, the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) Diploma in Photoimaging is having its Graduate Exhibition. The exhibition is called Monoculare and is:
“an eclectic celebration of creative vision and accomplishments. Monoculare is a collaboration of a range of ages and backgrounds with each photographer bringing together a large body of work to an impressive conclusion.”
The Photoimaging program is for students who want to make photography a vocation or use it as a medium for self-expression. The course teaches imaging techniques in both analogue and digital photography using both the web and printing services to produce photographic images. The Diploma is geared for careers in professional Print based photography and digital or web-based design.
NMIT has had some successful former students including Calista Lyon who won the 2006 Australian Institute of Professional Photography Student Photographer of the year award and Ellen Duffy, described by Melbourne Pixel as,
“one of the new generation of up and coming photographers who, rather than being motivated by the lure of a quick buck for pointing and shooting, has a real passion for the craft.”
Showing at the exhibition will be images:
“From grand landscapes to quirky portraits, Monoculare is a celebration of diversity and devotion.”
The gallery at Chapel off Chapel is open daily from 10am to 5pm and the opening of the exhibition is on Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm.
