Excitement builds for Roola Boola Childrens Art Festival

The 2016 Roola Boola Children’s Art Festival is just over a week away and the annual Prahran-based festival is shaping up to be the best yet.

Kicking off on Tuesday 28th June and running until Friday the 8th July, this will be the seventh year in a row that the festival has offered kids the opportunity to unlock their creativity through engaging in theatre, magic, music, dance and circus.

With a mixture of workshops, performances and interactive sessions, the festival caters for kids from ages 4 to 12 and is renowned for being one of the best school holiday events in Melbourne.

Some of this year’s stand out events include Aria Award winner Justine Clarke’s show, workshops from Le Petit Circus and the National Institute of Circus Arts and breakdancing classes with The Space. ‘Reasons to Stay Inside’, the show by Katy Warner which won the Best Kids Show Award at the Melbourne Fringe in 2015, is another event that is garnering much excitement and is expected to sell out.

At the heart of the festival is always the multitude of free craft stalls and sessions which give children the chance to be creative, get messy and make a wide range of craft including sand sculptures, Calendars, clay animals, bedroom door Signs and unusual musical instruments.

Tickets for all shows at Chapel Off Chapel cost $15 and you can find out information about all free and ticketed events at roolaboola.com.au
