The novel was written in 1915 by John Buchan and concerns one Richard Hannay, the narrator, who goes on an adventure to avoid capture by spies. Through pursuit and clever misdirection, Hannay manages to stay ahead of his pursuers, and helps to set up the capture of the spies at the eleventh hour.
The novel has spawned many films, including one famously by Alfred Hitchcock, and has now been adapted for the stage. The version on show in Prahran has come from the West End and has appeared on Broadway, where it has won two Tony awards and an Olivier for Best Comedy.
The cast contains only four members that play over 150 characters, and the audience will be set to enjoy a fast-paced, lively adventure of heroism and comedy.
