Young dancers, movers and choreographers in the Prahran area may be keen to sign up for an immersive experience to learn new skills and strategies.
The Youth Dance Makers initiative was set up specifically to encourage young movers to develop skills and to showcase their perspective on global issues through performance.
This two-day initiative involves workshops led by seven artist and choreographers who are keen to share their knowledge and skills with the young dance community. The instructors include Zoe Bastin, who is leading with improvisation, Ngioka Bunda-Heath (choreography), Emily Bowman (contact choreography), Jonathan Sinatra (improvisation with video creation), Amanda Lever (choreography), Chelsea Byrne (improvisation) and Kyall Shanks (choreography). All are local to the area and share a wealth of dance, choreography and improvisation experience – the combination allowing workshop attendees to move in a more structured, considered way, with an emphasis on fun.
In order to promote movement workshops, Promotional Products such as T-Shirts are often available to buy as students are keen to signify their allegiance to certain dance instructors and instruction.
