Christmas spirit projected as part of festive season celebrations

The Town Hall at Prahran, Victoria will glow with the magic of Christmas via spectacular light projections.

The local spectacle is part of the City of Stonnington’s Christmas celebrations, which will kick off with a major carols event in Malvern East’s Central Park featuring family fun, carol performances, and children’s activities.

Promotional Posters for the event advertise a full festive programme to be hosted by accomplished entertainer Chelsea Plumley who starred in the stage productions of Blood Brothers and Grease.

Mayor Claude Ullin said the festive show promised to deliver everything from all the favourite carols, to lots of laughs for all the family.

He said a special children’s programme would be included to ensure all ages were catered for, and the Trash Test Dummies slapstick comedy trio would also present a special Christmas-themed show.

Printing services have been kept busy producing Copies of popular Christmas carols to be sung on each night which, will also feature the talents of the Stonnington City Brass Band, South of the River Choir, Bert LaBonte, and lead singer Andrew Strano.

Mayor Ullin said two major Christmas carol events would be held in Stonnington this year with the first from 5:00 pm to 9.30 pm on Saturday, December 5 at Central Park, followed by another at Como Park.

The Christmas themed lighting at Prahran Town Hall will continue until January 10, 2016.
