Cabaret festival comes to Prahran

Melbourne Cabaret Limited will be bringing the Melbourne Cabaret Festival to Prahran this June.

The festival welcomes a wide variety of artistic events and supports causes such as marriage equality by providing visibility to sexualities, cultures, ages, races and genders that are not represented well. Acts from the 2019 programme included an undersea cabaret set with an ocean sustainability theme, an inter-generational Yiddish singing team, an award-winning jazz singer and a musical adventure on the history of the piano. Brochure printing is often used to create programmes for events like this.

Melbourne Cabaret Limited is a non-profit organisation that aims to promote cabaret performances. Funding for the festival is provided via fundraising campaigns, donations, its ‘Friends of the Festival’ programme and the selling of tickets. The festival is also supported by various long-term sponsors, such as the Ron and Marg Dobell Foundation, Quest St Kilda Road, Germy Designs and Grillo Higgins. Its most recent sponsor is the City of Stonington. Music Theatre students from the Victorian College of the Arts volunteer at the event.

The Melbourne Cabaret Festival will be held from Wednesday, 16th June to Sunday, 27th June. The venue for the event is the Chapel off Chapel, which is a licensed venue with accessibility for those with a disability. Festival events will take place between 6pm to 10pm.
