Alternative dance music fans in and about Prahran will be pleased to know that popular electronica duo Bag Raiders will be playing in Prahran this month.
Classical music students Jack Glass and Chris Stracey met at the Cranbrook School in Sydney. In 2005, they began mixing 1970s rock music and hip-hop CDs.
In 2006, they became Bag Raiders, between them playing keyboard, drums, guitar, violin and piano, with both also singing vocals, producing and mixing.
Citing Earth, Wind and Fire, 808 State, Orbital and The Brothers Johnson as their inspiration, the bands’ debut album was released in 2010, reaching number seven on the ARIA Albums Chart.
This album introduced an eager audience to the track Shooting Stars, which is one of the biggest Australian dance tracks ever produced. It has even been assigned its own meme, which has both perplexed and delighted the band. In 2019, the second album, Horizons, was released.
At the event in September, Bag Raiders will be joined by local support on stage. At such multi-artist events, Promotional Products will be on sale to be purchased by fans as mementos.
Bag Raiders is set to appear at the club Revolver Upstairs, which can be found at 229 Chapel Street, Prahran on Sunday, 15 September. This is a daytime event, running from 7am until 10pm, with Bag Raiders DJing from 2.30pm. Tickets cost from $27.53.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
