2020 Arts Festival goes online for first time

The Roola Boola Children's Arts Festival is returning in 2020 for kids in Prahran and throughout the City of Stonnington in a new, online format.

Renowned for the many arts experiences it provides for children, this year's festival will feature unique activities, workshops and performances that will activate the imaginations of young minds. Mayor Steve Stefanopoulos said the arts festival was extremely popular with kids and parents and he welcomed the new online format, adding:

"This year’s festival has adapted to an online format that provides the opportunity for households to be included in high quality interactive experiences.”

Varietyville Productions has put together a programme that includes storytelling workshops, dance and magic as well as a number of interactive performances. Special showbags full of creative and fun craft activities and Promotional Products will also be available.

The use of technology to present the festival's performing arts programme in a new and exciting way was welcomed by Varietyville Productions Director, Daniel Oldaker who said it provided people with a whole new arts experience. He added that everyone who tuned in could expect a bit of magic, circus and a great amount of fun from the shows, which will also feature interactive segments and guest performers.

The Roola Boola Children's Arts Festival can be enjoyed online during the school holidays from June 30 to July 10.
