Live concert series to help aid industry's recovery
Essendon residents need only travel to nearby St Kilda to enjoy one of a number of major concerts being presented by Visit Victoria and the Mushroom Group.
The 2021 Sounds Better Together concert series will include performances across Victoria, including St Kilda, Geelong, Yarra Valley and Rutherglen, according to Major Events, Sport and Tourism Minister Martin Pakula. He added:
Pakula said the music industry injects millions of dollars into the economy and supports workers numbering in the thousands, and the concerts were a way of helping it recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Some of Australia's top artists, many of whom have been featured many times in poster printing campaigns promoting major events nationwide, will headline at the latest events, which will begin on January 23 with a concert starring Missy Higgins, Didirri, Gordi and Tones and I at the Mt Duneed Estate, and another at the Yarra Valley's Rochford Wines featuring Jimmy Barnes, Vika and Kinda and the Teskey Brothers.
The St Kilda concert on January 24 will see Something for Kate take the stage in the Prince Bandroom, while Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes, together with Deborah Conway and Daryl Braithwaite, are to feature on January 25 at Rutherglen's All State Estate. The live music events are expected to attract not only locals, but also many visitors, and all will be COVID-safe.
