Clubbers in the Essendon area might wish to join the glamour of the dancefloor with a Studio 54 ‘Revival’ night.
Studio 54 was the legendary nightclub that operated between 1977 and 1989 in New York, so-called because it was located on 54th Street. It was launched as a disco dancing venue, as this kind of music was gaining popularity at the time.
It was a popular venue, attracting celebrities such as Bianca Jagger. Other notable patrons were David Bowie, Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger and Andy Warhol. Members of the public were sometimes allowed in, but were strictly vetted on the door.
At the ‘Revival’, the entrance policy will be much more forgiving. Once in, smartly clad customers can dance along to anthems by the likes of Earth, Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer and Kool and the Gang, all while channelling the energy and glamour of the infamous New York hotspot beneath the spinning mirror ball.
Colourful poster printing to advertise events like this one might be produced by local printing services.
Studio 54’s ‘Revival’ is taking place on Friday, 20 March from 8 pm until 3 am. The venue is Dimples, 100 Fletcher Street in Essendon. Tickets cost $40 online, although it will be possible to buy tickets on the door. The dress code is smart casual.
