Disco party to take place in Essendon

Essendon party lovers who enjoy dancing can join an evening filled with disco classics that will entice people onto the floor.

Essendon is going back to the ‘70s with an evening of disco and dance magic, with any money raised on the door being donated to One Music Australia. This organisation ensures that businesses playing music have the correct permissions in place and also that artists receive their correct share of royalties.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the era if they wish. Popular items of clothing of the time include flares, bell bottoms, platform shoes and flamboyant disco outfits, such as those worn at Studio 54 in New York.

Popular dance hits of the ‘70s include classics such as I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, Dancing Queen by Abba, You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) by Sylvester, Night Fever by the Bee Gees and Y.M.C.A. by the Village People.

Venues that host parties like this one might rely on colourful poster printing to serve as advertising within the locality.

The ‘70s Disco Dazzler will be taking place on Saturday, 19 September from 9 pm at Dimples. The venue can be found at 100 Fletcher Street in Essendon. Tickets will be on sale at the door, with free entry before 10pm, and $20 after 10pm. The event is for over 18s only.
