Spraggon was recently speaking at the annual Women In Business lunch event at the Moonee Valley Racing Club, near Essendon. This popular annual event is organised by Age writer and blogger, Mia Freedman.
Spraggon’s specialities are boosting networking and sales and she told the professional crowd:
“There are opportunities to make connections in everyday situations, such as picking up the dry cleaning, helping on school canteen duties or supporting your children at sporting games. It’s choosing to open those doors and see them as business opportunities as well. So many valuable things come when you’re willing to make that choice to connect.”
A sales professional for fifteen years, Spraggon challenged these business verses pleasure clichés by creating friendships at work. Success in her field soon followed and now she is committed to the idea that work should be fun and that making friendly connections are important components of a successful sales approach for companies.
“You don’t have to see that it has to be a traditional networking event and you can meet people everywhere, every single day,” said Spraggon.
With this is mind, it’s probably a good time to get some business card printing done because you never know when you might need them next; it could be next time you go to your local store to buy milk.
