Essendon businesses offered mentoring
Small businesses in Essendon needing support and advice during the current pandemic are now able to access a session with an experienced mentor to discuss topics ranging from COVID-19 entitlements to marketing and increasing profits.
The Monee Valley Council has recognised that many of the smaller businesses in the area may need some independent advice to guide them through the current circumstances and ensure opportunities for continued trading.
The Small Business Mentoring Service will provide the mentoring and local businesses will have the opportunity to choose a mentor best suited to their needs. Over 150 mentors – all having extensive experience with small businesses – work with the organisation.
Each business will receive one free session and the mentoring will take place over Zoom, Skype or by telephone call. The mentoring session will take up to one and a half hours.
The mentors will listen to current issues facing businesses and assist in providing motivation and putting together a plan for the future. Mentors will also be able to provide another point of view on existing business plans.
Other topics that may be covered are time management, marketing strategies, grant applications and how to identify new opportunities. The mentors will strive to bring innovative ideas and new strategies to mentoring sessions.
Small businesses often use printing services to print business cards to promote their services in the local area.
More information and free mentoring vouchers are available on the Monee Valley Council website.
