Mayor Cr. Diana Asmar of Darebin is hosting her annual Mayoral Fund Raising Ball on October 29; the event will take place at Stars International Reception Centre in Preston. This year’s theme will be Unmask a Cure for MS. Drawing enough people to charity events can often be difficult but with the proper promotion it can be made to appear like the can’t-miss event that it is. That is when a local printing company from Melbourne or from such nearby suburbs as Darebin and Epping can help you. A printing company can help you to create a well-designed and emotionally charged poster which spells out exactly what support is needed; such a poster appearing at various locations throughout the city will almost guarantee that many who might not have attended your event in the past will be drawn to it.
Unmask a Cure for MS will feature live entertainment from the band Masquerade, a 3-course meal and drinks, a live auction, a raffle and a silent auction. Dress for this event is semi-formal and wearing a mask is optional. Tickets are $75 or $700 for a table of 10 and the ball begins at 8 pm. All proceeds raised will go to the Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories; an MS research program which does not receive a lot of funding.
More funding for MS research is desperately needed and events such as the mayor’s ball go a long way in ensuring that those doing the research have enough money to continue and to eventually find a cure for this condition.
