Residents of Epping and the surrounding areas who are interested in native plants can visit a local venue where they can see the newly-planted Indigenous Garden and take part in activities, all supported by a City of Whittlesea grant.
An area of Lalor Tennis Club has been a space that has been planned and cultivated over many months by Cultural Gardens. It was planned as an indigenous area that includes a bush tucker garden, a sensory garden, a yarning circle and areas for all to socialise, sit and play.
The official inauguration will take place on 24 May, and all the family is welcome to join in. The day will encompass a didgeridoo performance and dancing, bush tucker planting and a tennis match. There will also be the opportunity to enjoy gardening with the Cultural Gardens team and partake in bush tucker catering by the Ngarrgu Djerring Café.
Gardening spaces like this one sometimes take advantage of local printing services to produce labelling for plants in a cultivated space.
