Learn to futureproof a garden in Epping

Domestic gardeners in the Epping area might wish to attend a free event that offers advice about gardening in an increasingly hot and dry climate.

Kat Lavers will be present at the Climate Resilient Gardening workshop, and will show how growing food and maintaining a garden can still be possible, even in climatically trying, harsh conditions.

Lavers will be showing how to garden smarter and will also look at plant selection, improving the soil and clever water-saving strategies. Her tips will apply to all gardeners, whether they are used to a large space or are utilising pots in a smaller area.

Lavers has been teaching for 20 years and has a tiny suburban plot called The Plummery, which is able to supply most of the fresh produce required by two people with minimal management. She is passionate about making tiny urban plots super-productive, helping to reconnect people with the land and envisage possibilities.

Local printing services might often be used for services such as producing plant labels that can be attached to growing spaces to identify seedlings.

Climate Resilient Gardening with Kat Lavers is taking place on Saturday, 17 January, from 10 am until midday. The location is Creeds Farm Living and Learning Centre, which can be found at 2 Snugburgh Way in Epping. A place is free, but it is necessary to book a spot beforehand.
