The unprecedented investment has been described by Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio as assisting in the re-establishment of Victoria’s long-held title ‘The Garden State’ as well as providing great places for families to spend time, unwind and relax with loved ones. She added:
“Victoria was the Garden State and through investments like this, our beautiful, vibrant city can once again be known as the parks capital of Australia. Melbourne is already one of the world’s most liveable cities and we’re ensuring future generations in these growing suburbs have access to open, green space.”
As a direct result of the funding, new parkland, dog parks, pocket parks, bike trails and walking trails covering as much as 6,500 hectares are set to be created, which equates to about 170 botanic gardens. Plans for new city developments are often created with the use of Graphic Design Services.
New parks are set to be created in suburbs such as Carrum, South Morang, Craigieburn, Clyde and Officer while 25 inner-city suburbs that have higher density developments are earmarked for pocket parks.
Enclosed dog parks are also to be established in 16 key locations across Melbourne.Get a Free Quote for Graphic Design Services
