Christmas may still be some months away but for retail businesses it is important to start planning early. Christmas is the busiest time of year for many retailers and putting in place a good sales strategy can help increase profits over the coming months.
Retailers in Epping who are looking for a boost during this Christmas shopping period can take advantage of a special workshop to help their strategies for the festive season.
Hosted by the City of Whittlesea Council, the workshop is being delivered by the Australian Retailers Association (Retail Institute). The Association was set up in 1903 and works with independent and national retailers to promote and advocate for the industry.
The Christmas workshop, which takes place next month, will cover a number of key areas. These include planning for Christmas sales, managing seasonal stock, and how to move out of the Christmas shopping season and into the post-Christmas and New Year sale period.
Attendees will learn strategies for managing the short-term Christmas trade and how to increase sales without going over budget for the year. The workshops are suitable for all staff and for both small independent traders and those working for larger stores or chains.
Retailers could employ a range of marketing strategies during the lead up to Christmas, such as flyer printing and poster printing to promote new Christmas stock or special offers.
The three-hour workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at the council offices in South Moran and starts at 5.30pm. To register, visit the City of Whittlesea Council website.
