Epping residents invited to African festival

Residents of Epping and surrounding areas are being invited to attend the African Music and Cultural Festival this month.

Featuring cultural displays, music, food, fashion and more from 35 African nations, due to the overwhelming demand from previous years, the 2021 programme will now run over three days.

Set to be held for the eighth time, the African Music and Cultural Festival has quickly become an important part of Melbourne’s cultural calendar and has drawn over 40,000 visitors in previous years. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has previously said the festival is:

“A celebration and reflection of our rich, vibrant Australian story – drawn from all corners of the earth.”

Community events such as this can benefit greatly from banner printing to help organisers plainly display key information to attendees throughout the programme.

The event’s three-day programme includes short films, live jazz, spoken word performances, drumming workshops, face painting, jumping castles and more. For those looking to take home something special, the event will also be running several market stalls featuring traditional crafts and wares, as well as plenty of mouth-watering food.

The 2021 African Music and Cultural Festival will run from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st November in Federation Square, on the corner of Swanston and Flinders Streets. Entry is free, though registrations are currently available online. More information can be found on the African Music and Cultural Festival Facebook page.
