Epping resident organises fundraising dinner

Epping resident Josie Minniti is back on the fundraising trail again this year, aiming to raise thousands of dollars for the new Child and Adolescents Unit at the city’s Northern Hospital.

Mrs Minniti is well known in the area for her annual dinner dances and has been raising money for local hospitals for the past 13 years.

Last year more than 400 guests attended the sixth annual dinner, dance and auction, and raised in excess of $30,000 for the Northern Hospital's colorectal services.

Over the years, Mrs Minniti has helped to raise more than $450,000 for hospitals in the area. This year, Mrs Minniti and her husband Rino hope to raise at least $24,000 for equipment and to build a three bed room at the new children's unit which is currently being developed.

Twelve members of Mrs Minniti's family have lost a battle with cancer and Mr Minniti was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago, so raising money to help cancer sufferers is a cause close to the heart for the couple.

Flyer printing and poster printing are low cost ways to promote a fundraising event, enabling more of the money raised to go directly to the cause.

This year's dinner, dance and auction takes place on Saturday June 22nd at Greenville Receptions in Thomastown, starting at 6:30pm.

Tickets are $50 and include drinks and a five course meal. An auction will also be held on the night. For tickets, or to offer an item for the auction, contact Mrs Minniti on 9401 4199.
