A British band names after a type of Australian animal are set to play Melbourne this year.
Beloved by British and Australian music lovers alike, independent Liverpool group The Wombats are coming soon to Melbourne enabling their fans in Epping and other areas to see them play. Their upcoming Australian tour will also take the band to Hobart, Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane as they play celebrated venues in each state. Bands playing auditoriums, arenas, clubs and bars can usually benefit from using poster printing services to produce attractive adverts for their gigs.
The Wombat’s 2022 Australia tour comes off the back off a full schedule back home. Along with a national tour of Britain, the band have been booked by multiple festivals including Neighbourhood Weekender, Reading and Leeds. The three-piece group is made up of drummer, Dan Haggis, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen and singer-guitarist, Matthew Murphy.
With 15 years of successful recording and touring, the band continues to win over audience members and critics alike. Recently, a remix of “Greek Tragedy” by Oliver Nelson on TikTok has grown them a new crop of younger music fans.
The Wombats will be playing live at the John Cain Arena based on Olympic Boulevard in Melbourne on the 10th of June. Fans can expect t hear classic tracks like “Moving to New York”, “Turn” and “Tokyo”.
