Christmas spirit abounds in Epping this weekend

Christmas Day may still be a few weeks away, but it is time to start getting into the festive spirit in Epping with the Aurora Christmas Festival.

The Festival will include live music, children’s rides, craft activities, and entertainment. Among the special guests will be singer Rachael Leahcar. The young singer, who is legally blind, became a favourite with viewers of the television show The Voice Australia, finishing the show in third place.

Also performing will be local singer and songwriter Melissa Tumeo and the Rudolph Recruits, who will be staging an Aussie Musical Christmas Show. No Christmas party would be complete without a visit from Santa, and he will be on hand to meet festivalgoers after each show. Families are to bring a picnic and enjoy a full day while the rides and playground keep children entertained.

Festive photographs make fantastic presents for family and friends, so it is worth considering getting any good photographs professionally printed by a printing company to give as gifts, or to try postcard printing to make personalised cards to send to relatives overseas.

The Festival is organised by the Aurora Community Association, which was set up to help the Epping North community develop stronger links through community events, as well as to advocate on the community’s behalf.

The Festival takes place tomorrow, December 2, at Lehmann’s Farm Park in Broadleaf Drive and starts at 11:00 am. Free shuttle buses will run to the venue from a number of locations. For more information, visit the Aurora Community Association website.
