Christmas comes early in Epping

Epping families can celebrate Christmas a little early with a special festive party next month.

The free event is being organised by the Whittlesea Reconciliation Group and will feature entertainment, games and a Christmas dinner.

The group advocates for Aboriginal families living in the City of Whittlesea and promotes recognition and integration within the community.

The Christmas party is part of its work to celebrate Australia’s culture and bring the Whittlesea community members together to enjoy themselves.

There will be something for all ages, from baby massage and kids’ karaoke to traditional games and elders’ tai chi.

Of course, Santa will also be making an appearance and children can have their photo taken with him during the afternoon. As a souvenir of the event, families could use a printing company to create cards featuring the image to send to friends and relatives.

As well as enjoying the fun, families from Epping can also learn more about getting fit and being active, and there will be health providers on hand to help families start 2015 in a healthy way. Among them will be maternal and child health nurses, who will be offering free checks for visitors.

The party takes place on Friday, December 5, between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm at the Meadow Glen International Athletics Stadium in Epping.
