16th annual Kalkallo Rural Fire Brigade art fundraiser

This weekend, the Kalkallo CFA (Country Fire Authority) held their major annual event to raise money for the maintenance and purchase of new fire equipment. The art show ran over the long weekend in June, Saturday 9th-10th, and was completely free entry, with fundraising coming solely from the sales of artwork.

Drawing in artists and art enthusiasts from Epping through to Sunbury, the rural fire brigade is now in its 16th year, and the the event was just as much a big deal as it has been in its fifteen previous years.

To increase the reach of events like these, organisers will often employ printing services and engage in postcard printing and flyer printing, in addition to poster printing and banner printing that is usually used for such events. Postcards and Flyers can be distributed at local coffee shops, retail stores and restaurants to drum up local support, which is what most fundraising events like these rely upon.

A major highlight in the Kalkallo Rural Fire Brigade’s calendar, the event doesn’t just raise around $6000 to $7000 for their vital fire safety equipment, but it is also a fun event for themselves and the community at large to engage in. Not to mention the Devonshire tea that will be available as customers peruse the artwork.

The event was held at Jika Farm, 495 Donnybrook Road, Michleham on Saturday 9 June and Sunday 10 June. For more information on how to support next year's event, phone 0409 963 421.
