Business owners offered COVID normal summit

Broadmeadows business owners – in particular medium, small or start-up businesses – are invited to attend an online conference to address how best to progress under the new COVID-19 conditions.

The conference will focus on the disruptions caused to local businesses and will give business owners and managers an opportunity to hear how other companies are tackling the new ‘COVID normal’.

As the current circumstances present many different challenges and disruptions, there will be opportunities for attendees to share their experiences and discuss what has and has not worked for them. Council initiatives to assist business owners will also be discussed.

The importance of mental health for staff will also be discussed, alongside how best small business owners can keep positive attitudes and mental health among employees.

Further sessions will be offered after the conference in specific areas including manufacturing, tourism, hospitality, retail, technology and entrepreneurs.

A business model currently in use by many hospitality managers dealing with COVID restrictions will be studied, as will the experience of the customer and strategies for dealing with the challenges faced by local businesses.

Conference organisers will often have Promotional Products created, such as promotional Pens or Notepads, to gift to attendees.

The conference will be held on Wednesday, October 21 and will run from 10am until 4pm. To register for the conference, visit the Hume City Council website.
