Zero-emissions webinar to be hosted by Yarra City

The Yarra City Council is providing residents of Clifton Hill and surrounding suburbs an opportunity to participate in an online event addressing ways in which the public can live more sustainably and aim towards a zero-emissions future.

This event features expert speakers such as The Climate Council’s CEO, Amanda McKenzie, retired physician and member of Doctors for the Environment, John Iser and Board member Zoe Whitton from the Investor Group on Climate Change.

The main topic discussed will relate to Australia’s unique opportunity to recuperate from the coronavirus pandemic to create a healthy, safe, zero-emissions future. The session aims to stress the importance of moving away from a gas-led recovery towards renewable energy solutions that will benefit the nation’s health and create new employment opportunities.

This online event is the first of a three-part series regarding renewable energy solutions. The second session will focus on providing attendees information and tips on how to become involved in campaigning for ecological solutions that address climate change issues.

The third session deals with practical solutions for homeowners to transition from gas to an electric home to create zero-emissions. Various technologies such as water heating and space heating will be discussed.

The three sessions will be delivered as webinars and are free of charge. Webinars often utilise graphic design to convey relevant information to attendees through charts and slides as part of a presentation.

The first session will be held on 11 August at 6:30pm. Further information can be found on the Yarra City Council website.
