Crafters in the Abbotsford area can enjoy a session where they learn to make herbal syrup using local, seasonal botanicals.
During the course, attendees will learn about the ingredients required and how honey helps in preservation. They will also understand how to formulate and make at home and then just how the syrups can be used to support respiratory and immune health.
At the end of the session, participants will have a handmade syrup to take away with them, as well as recipes and notes that will be useful in the home kitchen. Local Stationery printers are often the source of paperwork generated to support courses that generate a lot of factual content.
As well as learning a practical skill, those attending will learn about the healing power of plants and how they can be useful in everyday life. The course is run by the School of Elemental Herbalism, helping to highlight the potency of the plant-human relationship.
Syrup Making at the Winter Solstice Market is taking place on Sunday 21st June, from 10am until 11am, at Abbotsford Covent, 1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford, VIC 3067. General admission to the Herbalism Market costs $15. It is necessary to register for a place as there are limited spaces. The session is suitable for beginners and all materials will be provided.
