The Sea of Light installation has been created by Patch Theatre. This theatre company was founded in 1972 in South Australia and has produced in excess of one hundred works and has won many awards. The essence of the work is visually stimulating performances, promoting discovery and wonder, helping to fire the imagination of young schoolchildren. Patch performances have also been enjoyed all around the world.
The Sea of Light event enables participants to draw and stencil with a UV torch, amongst the work of Aboriginal Contemporary Visual Artist, Elizabeth Close, who has also painted in light across the floor. A gentle soundscape by the composer Rob Edwards helps contribute to a unique visual and sound adventure for all. A recent young attendee exclaimed:
“Awesome. Cool. The coolest thing ever!”
