Yoga experience scheduled for Abbotsford

Residents of Abbotsford can soon join a peaceful yoga session while experiencing bespoke live music.

Cello Yoga has been running for almost three years and has hosted over 1,000 devotees in that time.

The upcoming yoga session in Abbotsford is to be led by Michelle Li. With a psychologist background, Li is also trained in yoga, breathwork and meditation. Using gentle breathwork and movement, participants are helped to feel a sense of calm and ease, and invited to feel fully present in the moment. Participants can choose to sit or lie down for the session.

Accompanied by Australian classical composer, soundscape artist and cellist Conrad Hamill, the music has been specially composed to serenade and calm those attending. The breathwork will synchronise with the carefully crafted sounds of the cello, inviting relaxation, mindfulness and presence. Hamill is also a yoga devotee, so he has first-hand experience of how the soundscape can promote restfulness.

The session will start with deep breathing, which then integrates a vinyasa style flow, promoting nervous system relaxation and regulation.

Arts-style venues often use local printing services in order to advertise up and coming events like this one.

Cello Yoga will take place at The Oratory, Abbotsford Convent on Sunday, 10 May, from 3 pm until 4.30 pm. A place costs $40. Participants should dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat, paper and pen. The event is suitable for all, including beginners.
