A five-week course to help swimmers improve their stroke technique and endurance will be held at Collingwood Leisure Centre.
The course is aimed at serious swimmers who wish to perfect their technique to get better results and participants must be able to swim at least 100m continuously in freestyle. All aspects of all four swimming strokes will be covered. Venues such as leisure centres often use brochure printing to inform patrons about upcoming events.
Each class will concentrate on a different part of the stroke. Week one will cover body positioning, lane etiquette and kicking technique. The second week will look at breathing technique, moving the head correctly and breathing in time with the stroke.
In week three, positioning of hands and arms underwater to increase the length and strength of the stroke will be taught. Week four will concentrate on rotation and positioning of arms above the water, stroke rhythm entry and exit. The fifth week will be a review and stroke count test.
The course costs $123 for members or $137 for non-members. Bookings can be made online or in person at reception.
The course will begin on Tuesday July 2nd and will run on each Tuesday until 30th July. Class time will be 6:45pm to 7:45pm at Collingwood Leisure Centre, 2-28 Turnbull St, Clifton Hill.
